The Renaissance Foundation proudly sponsors the Beat the Odds Scholarship offered by STAND each year. The Beat the Odds Scholarship is for students who will feel empowered by telling their story. Stand for Children hosts a fundraising luncheon in Portland each year, during which recipients accept their scholarships. Recipients are also filmed for a biographical video which premieres at the event.

Stand for Children is a non-profit education advocacy organization dedicated to ensuring every student in Oregon, regardless of background or circumstance, graduates high school on time, prepared for college, a career, or both.
Every year, we unite business and civic leaders, legislators, educators, parents, and local community members to celebrate inspiring high school seniors who overcome tremendous obstacles as they earn their diplomas, and award them with $20,000 scholarships to help make their dreams of a college degree reality.
