Connecting Our Renaissance Scholars

The Renaissance Scholars Program offers several events throughout the year to engage and interact with our scholars. We host events where our current scholars can come together to enjoy time as a program, as well as interacting with our Co-trustees, staff, and volunteer committee. Scholars are occassionally invited to University sponsored events that the Foundation attends like Portland State University’s Annual Simon Benson Awards Dinner. We love getting to see our scholars in person and virtually as often as we can. It is always wonderful having them all together to hear about the amazing things going on in their lives. Current scholars can look forward to these events and foundation staff will reach out via email when events are added to the calendar!

Scholar Activities

Welcome Reception

At the beginning of the academic year, we like to host a reception on campus for our scholars to connect with new and returning students attending the same university. Typically held during the first few weeks of the fall term.

Annual Scholar Brunches

Typically held in November and April, scholars come together to share a meal and connect with students from different universities. This is also an opportunity to interact with foundation staff and our trustees.

Ice Cream Social

In the summer months, we come together to connect with scholars from different universities. Summer events are great for scholars who attend university out of state. This is also an opportunity to interact with foundation staff and our trustees.
